 | Welcome | Sep 28, 2005 |
This blog site of the Canoeing Group of the Gay Outdoor Club UK includes Journals of write-ups illustrated by photos of past events - and the albums of additional photos. GOC canoeing organises events in the UK and abroad. Canoeing and whitewater rafting trips abroad have, so far, included those to the rivers - Doredogne and Tarn in France, the Tisza in Hungary, the Ebro in Spain, the Tara in Montenegro/Bosnia, the Ahanesal in Morocco. Last year we carried out our plan to raft and canoe down the Socca River in Slovenia (see blog). This year we rafted the Colorado and Green Rivers in Utah, USA, including Cataract Canyon with its Class V (danger of death) rapids. In the UK: over the past several years, the group has been progressing, a weekend at a year, down the river Severn on the borders of Wales (see write-ups in blog). We finished the canoeable length in 2006. So last year we decided to do something new - canoeing the tidal river estuaries of Cornwall. We had a great time (see news in blog). . This year, the plan is to do some canoeing on the Borders - Canadian canoeing on the Tweed and sea-kayaking around the Farne Islands. Feel free to post a reply if you see something you like or just want to get in touch. Alternatively email goccanoe@yahoo.com to be put on an emailing list to be notified of future events. | Photos | Oct 12, 2009 |
